Managing a Foreign Education Fair for Ahmedabad’s Leading Education Consultancy


The journey of Rao Consultancy has been nothing less than a milestone in itself. This journey towards greatness began with a single step to help students get the best access to foreign universities. It is their vision to give students the right guidance towards expanding their academic horizons beyond their home shores. Today, Rao Consultancy is regarded as one of the leading consultancies in foreign education.

The Process

After the success of the first edition of Rao Foreign Education Fair in 2018, the expectations were much higher for us to surpass. The extremely positive response of the 2018 fair, gave us valuable insights as to how we could give the students a hassle-free experience for the 2nd consecutive year. On-the-spot offers, scholarships, 100% cash back on consulting fees and the presence of multiple foreign universities were some of the USP’s of the RFEF 2019. To target the right audience and to generate curiosity amongst the students we created a series of Trailer and Be There Videos that garnered more than 32K views with a reach of more than 83K on social media. We also developed a website specially for the Fair wherein students could pre-register themselves for the event. We also executed branding at various touch-points to give the whole event a great recall value. We executed Campus Branding, Outdoor Hoardings, Newspaper Advertising and social media promotions to get the record-breaking online registrations for the fair, a total of whopping 3,711 – a first of its kind in Ahmedabad. We also designed and produced specific kits for University Representatives and also for the Students attending the event with color coded wristbands which was an innovative way through which the reps could identify the students on parameters like the ones who have appeared for IELTS or not appeared for IELTS.

The D Day

The Rao Foreign Education Fair 2019 was a success story in itself with world-class planning and perfect execution. With an overwhelming response, the fair saw in attendance around 1500 students who shared an average rating of 4.4/5 for their overall experience. Not only the students but even the University Representatives were fairly happy with the quality of students that attended the Fair. The wristband format proved to be a game changer as it gave the university representatives a direct understanding to identify potential students. Overall, right from planning, designing, fabricating and executing, the Rao Foreign Education Fair 2019 was a testimony of our expertise in executing education fairs that connect with the students and give quality leads to the universities.
